Dear fans, coverists and K-Pop enthusiasts,
It is with great pleasure that we announce the theme for the 7th edition of our much-anticipated K-Pop Cover Awards Portugal gala: Metamorphosis!
After six successful and sold-out editions in the last two, we felt the need to take the show to the next level. To this end, this edition will bring significant changes that promise to surprise!
The word "Metamorphosis" symbolises transformation, growth and change. Inspired by this concept, we want the participating groups and solos to explore the essence of this metamorphosis in their performances. We want to celebrate not only the exquisite art of K-Pop in Portugal, but also the power of adaptation, innovation and revolution that this music industry has brought over the years.
In keeping with the theme, we encourage coverists to choose songs by K-Pop artists who have stood out for being the most revolutionary of their generation or those who have undergone a remarkable transformation in their careers. We'll be selecting one performance from each generation (Annex), so think carefully about your choice! We can't wait to see how your performances will portray the path these artists have travelled and how their art has influenced and shaped the K-Pop universe.
As well as the change of venue, with a move to the vibrant city of Porto and a larger auditorium to accommodate more passionate fans, we're also working hard to perfect every aspect of the Gala. All this to provide an unforgettable experience for all participants.
Our Gala aims not only to recognise the talent of national cover artists, but also to celebrate the culture and diversity of K-Pop. We look forward to witnessing how each participant interprets the theme of this edition, demonstrating that the art of K-Pop is itself a constant metamorphosis.
